Thirteen percent of young women show symptoms associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to an NHS report. Two women who’ve experienced it share their stories (Video)
It’s sad that people don’t realise that ANY traumatic incident can lead to PTSD as the 2 women in the video can attest to. It’s not just a man thing and it certainly isn’t just a military thing, although many of our military return from combat suffering and more needs to be done to help these people. (The fact that it seems to be left in the hands of the various charities seems strange to me.)
Now of course it must also be stated that not every traumatic incident leads to PTSD but once flashbacks occur and triggers begin to be recognised then seek help.
Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) has a specific protocol for dealing with PTSD and is proving very effective and we have within our ranks therapists specialising in PTSD.
